Andrew Stott

Andrew has been involved in the 'Art world' for the last 15 years and has always had a love of ceramics and pottery. When we were all faced with lockdown boredom Andrew decided to pick up where he left off at art college and ordered himself a couple of bags of clay and booked himself of some refresher lessons with a pottery collective in Sussex. That was almost 5 years ago now and since then he is now lucky enough to be able to work from his own studio in his garden in Newquay after making the move to Cornwall, spending his days immersing himself in creating his wildlife sculptures. Cresta makes handmade unique sterling silver & ceramic jewellery and enjoysexploring surface decoration and pattern, her experience in clay started with slipcasting, here she learnt a passion for colouring porcelain which she now uses in herjewellery. In her studio she has many test tiles recording percentage and outcome,this allows her to choose from a broad spectrum of coloured clay. Dreya Glass

Dreya Bennett.I was born in Africa and lived in Lagos until I was 9 then my family moved back to the UK and settled in Cornwall.Moving to Cornwall at such a young age shaped my passions and my future in so many ways. Having always been in swimming pools and the sea in Africa the love of water intensified on the beautiful beaches and in the crashing Atlantic surf of the Cornish Coastline.The sea and its different moods have always been in my life.Being a keen surfer in my teens, my love of playing in and with the elements became all-encompassing when I discovered the thrill of kitesurfing. I was a pioneer in the early days of the sport and set up one of the first kitesurfing schools in the UK. Shelagh Spear

Sculpture has been a life long interest for Shelagh, and since she completed her Studio Ceramics degree in 2000 has used clay as the medium for her artwork. Her work is widely collected. Her pieces have a timeless, narrative quality. Individual figures stand alone, deep in thought, or are joined by a cast of other participants: people, animals and birds. She says: “ My work is evidently influenced by old English ceramics and folk art from everywhere, but I especially love the figures drawn in medieval illustrated manuscripts. Louisa Ellis

Louisa Ellis did an art foundation course at Kingsway Princeton College in London and first became interested in printmaking while studying for a BEd at the University of the Southbank, London where art was her major. For a while in the early 1990s she exhibited her work in Cornwall but quickly realised that she had to take a teaching job to support her young family. After more than 20 years as a primary teacher, Louisa is now finally free to follow her dream of becoming a full time printmaker.
