Painting has become to me in the last ten years a place to me on my own, my time, my space, my calm and my tonic.
I paint to capture ‘stills’ and to find stillness within me. When I paint I quickly fall into a flow state and I allow the paint and the palette knives to do the talking. I work quickly and intuitively often straight from walking and my paintings are a reaction to the day, the place, the weather and how I am feeling.
Painting takes me away from the humdrum and brings me joy and happiness. I hope my paintings capture the essence of me too as well as the landscape I frequent here in Cornwall, often alone, quiet and meditative.
